This is the convertible version of the McLaren 650S: the 650S Spider. Given how closely the 650S coupe is based upon the 12C, it’s no surprise to see the 650S Spider looking very much like a 12C: same folding hard-top roof, same 40kg weight penalty, same boasts by McLaren that the carbon tub needs no extra reinforcing for its role in a cabriolet. Though the 650S Spider is 40kg heavier than the hard-top and has some of its P1-echoing aerodynamic talent spoiled by chopping the top off, it’s still a very fast piece of kit.
Infiniti released a photo of the sinister-looking FX50 concept inspired by Sebastian Vettel on Sunday. The 390-hp sports crossover looks to be painted in matte white, which was one of the things discussed in the Vettel FX50 teaser video we saw on Friday. The video shows Vettel and Infiniti design chief Shiro Nakamura discussing the vehicle that is set to debut in Frankfurt, including colors, steering wheels and carbon-fiber accents.
The 2012 Ford B-Max has sector best economy and emissions
With the 2102 Ford B-Max due to debut in production guise at Geneva in a few weeks, Ford are claiming sector best emissions and economy. Just last week we had the first photos of the production version of the 2012 Ford B-Max, heralding the arrival of Ford’s new compact MPV at Geneva 2012, ahead of its arrival in Ford showrooms in the Summer. Now Ford are keen to let us know that the B-Max isn’t just a cleverly designed and decent-looking MPV, but it’s got the competition nailed with class-leading figures for economy and emissions.
